The Way 5 Recreational Drugs Make You Feel

  • 1. Ecstasy: All the happiness in the world in pill form. Takes about 30 to kick-in but is well worth the wait. The closest thing to hippie love anyone can experience in the 21st century. Your heart races, your palms sweat. You want to touch everyone and everything because you feel an overwhelming sense of adoration for them. You have a desire to walk and experience nature. You want to dance to the beat in your head that no one else can hear. You feel invincible for a few hours and then crash into the deepest depression you have ever felt.
  • 2. Cocaine: Goes down smoother than Heroin-no taste in the back of your mouth. It hits you just about instantly. You get cold or hot. Your teeth may chatter and your nose may run. No one can keep up with you, or so it feels. Your mouth has a mind of its own, talking faster than you can think. And then, you crash after 13 minutes. So, you spend the rest of you night going back to the mirror every ten. Otherwise, you are left with feelings of anxiety and stress.
  • 3. Heroin: It stings in the back of your throat, and you feel like you need to keep drinking to get the taste out of your mouth. But at some point, the pain goes away as the pain-relieving power kicks in. Your eyelids are heavy and so is your head; your skin itches like crazy. You will doze-off mid-sentence and awake seconds later to finish. You might get nauseated the first few times. When it's over you get your next fix or suffer the consequences-vomiting, diarrhea, cold sweats and more.
  • 4. Marijuana: Uncontrollable laughter emits from your mouth. The simplest thing easily confuses you. You are outrageously hunger and you eat until your stomach hurts and then eat more because you are so hungry. And your mouth is so dry. Your head is woozy and your body is heavy. Your eyelids are so heavy you are looking through slits. You sit on the couch and watch television because honestly, you don't feel like doing anything. As you sober up and come off the high, you feel a little nervous or jittery, but it will quickly go away.
  • 5. Alcohol: Your face gets hot and your cheeks rosy red. Standing up straight isn't as easy as it used to be. Your head aches, but another drink takes care of that. Things you would never do don't seem so bad anymore, and things you have fanaticized about doing seem like fun to act on. You may not remember what you did the next day, but hopefully your friends can remind you.
